Sub-Commander T'Pol will be ordered to leave Enterprise in the February sweeps episode 'Shadows of P'Jem'.

StarTrek.com yesterday released the below official synopsis of the episode:

Archer and the crew are disappointed to discover that T'Pol has been ordered by the Vulcan High Command to leave the Enterprise - and equally frustrated at her seeming indifference to leaving their ranks. T'Pol's last mission as a Starfleet officer, however, proves eventful when she and Archer are kidnapped by a militant faction on an alien planet and find themselves once again at the mercy of the volatile Andorians.

'Shadows of P'Jem' was written by Enterprise executive story editors Mike Sussman and Phyllis Strong, based upon a story by creators Rick Berman and Brannon Braga. Sussman & Strong previously penned 'Strange New World' and 'Civilization'. The episode was directed by Trek veteran Mike Vejar.

The guest cast includes a number of familiar faces from previous episodes:

  • Jeffrey Combs as Shran
  • Vaughn Armstrong as Admiral Forrest
  • Gary Graham as Soval
  • Jeff Kober as Traeg
  • Steven Dennis as Tholos
  • Barbara Tarbuck as Chancellor Kalev

Additionally, the episode will feature either one or both of the following actors:

  • Gregory Itzin as Captain Sopek (listed only on the UPN press release - via Psi Phi).
  • Stephen Lee as Klingon Captain (listed only at StarTrek.com).

Combs and Dennis are reprising their respective roles of Shran and Tholos from 'The Andorian Incident', while Armstrong has guest starred as Admiral Forrest in both 'Broken Bow' and 'Fortunate Son'. Graham's Soval makes his second appearance, after debuting in 'Broken Bow'.

The rest of the guest cast have also had prior Trek experience. Best known as Sergeant Winslow on China Beach, Kober has appeared as Iko in Voyager's 'Repentance' in addition to roles in The X-Files and Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Tarbuck guest starred in The Next Generation's 'The Host' as Governor Leka Trion and has also featured in episodes of M*A*S*H, CSI and The Twighlight Zone.

Itzin has appeared as Ilon Tandro in DS9's 'Dax,' Hain in 'Who Mourns For Morn?' and Dr. Dysek in Voyager's 'Critical Care.' He has had varied guest roles on series such as Picket Fences, L.A. Law and Profiler.

If Lee is indeed appearing in the episode, he will be reprising his role as the Klingon Captain from the previous week's 'Sleeping Dogs', although this could be an error on the part of the official site.

In an interview last month, Jeffrey Combs talked about the premise behind the episode (story). "Basically, it's another hostage situation where the captain gets himself on another planet and gets himself caught in the crossfire of a civil war," he said. "It's not a good situation, and basically we are the cavalry coming over the hill. We show up at the opportune moment and help them, and extradite the captain out of the situation."

'Shadows of P'Jem' will air 8:00pm February 6 on UPN. The original details can be found here at StarTrek.com and Psi Phi.
