Hello World!

I managed to snap up some great bargains at the University of Queensland Alumni Book Sale yesterday. Since it was the last day, it was only $10 to fill a box with books, so I made my way to the Classics & Ancient History section and began to wreak havoc.

Some of my acquisitions included translations of Aristophanes' comedies (from 1938, so they're likely to be somewhat sanitised), as well as translations of Euripides, Livy, Aristotle and Plato. I also picked up a couple of books by big names such as Ehrenberg and Finley. One of my best finds was Pots and Pans of Classical Athens, which I took because the title amused me.

The downside to all this was that I spent much of yesterday walking around with a box full of books, which was certainly an excercise in pain tolerance.
