Hello World!

Mushrooms are definitely my favourite vegetable - perfect fried in butter with garlic, pepper and some white wine. They're also great in sauces, particularly with steak. It's a good thing I had some for dinner tonight, or I'd be making myself hungry...;)

These were some of the major news items on April 24, 2000:

  • Trek Passed Over For Hugo
    The franchise failed to win any nominations for the 2000 Hugo awards, but the Star Trek spoof 'Galaxy Quest' was nominated in the category of 'Best Dramatic Presentation.'

  • 'Starfleet Command Volume 2' Press Release
    Interplay announced that a sequel to the successful 'Starfleet Command' game was being developed by Taldren. The new title featured a redesigned interface, additional races and a new campaign game. It was released in December 2000.

Today's Television Listings

  • At 8:00pm (7:00pm Central), UPN will be showing the Enterprise episode 'Detained'. Here's how the official site describes the episode: 'Detained' photo - courtesy StarTrek.com, copyright Paramount Pictures

    While exploring a planet, Archer and Mayweather enter a "military zone" and are detained in an internment prison by an alien race called Tandarans, who are at war with the Suliban. While the Enterprise crew's previous encounters with the Suliban have been disastrous, Archer and Mayweather find themselves sharing a cell with some Suliban detainees who they believe may be wrongly imprisoned.

  • TNN will be showing the Next Generation episodes 'True-Q' at 8:00 p.m Eastern time, with 'Inheritance' at 11:00 p.m.

  • The Sci-Fi Channel will be showing the Original series episodes 'Friday's Child' at 6:00 p.m Eastern time, with 'The Menagerie, Part II' at 11:00 p.m.

  • In Canada, Space! will be showing the Original Series episodes 'The Empath' at 10:00 a.m and 2:00 p.m Eastern time, with TNG's 'Birthright Pt.2' at 3:00 p.m, DS9's 'Return to Grace' at 4:00 p.m, and Voyager's 'Drone' at 5:00 p.m.
