Michael Dorn (Worf) announced today that he'll be behind the camera for the penultimate Enterprise episode of the season, 'Two Days And Two Nights'.

"They asked, 'What would [you] like?' and I said, 'I've been really trying to [direct].' They said, 'OK, great,' and that's how it happened," Dorn told the Sci Fi Wire. The actor revealed that he received the offer whilst working on 'Star Trek X: Nemesis.'

"I'm very psyched about it. It's a great episode. It's going to be a lot of fun. I've always wanted to do an Enterprise. It's a terrific show," said the actor.

Dorn has directed within the Star Trek franchise twice before; he helmed the fifth season Deep Space Nine episode 'In the Cards' and 'Inquisition' in the sixth season. He will be the fourth former Trek actor to direct on Enterprise. Fellow Next Generation actor LeVar Burton (Geordi LaForge) directed 'Terra Nova' and 'Fortunate Son', Voyager's Robert Duncan McNeill (Tom Paris) directed 'Cold Front', while Roxann Dawson (B'Elanna Torres) oversaw 'The Andorian Incident' and the upcoming 'Vox Solis'.

Dorn was coy about revealing details about the episode he'll be working on. "I don't even know what [it] is going to be called. They've got a working title now," he said. "But I just got the beat sheet for it. It's a pleasure-planet episode, and that's all I'm going to tell you."

Previous spoilers for the episode have revealed that it takes place on Risa, where the NX-01 crew spends some off-duty downtime. For some, the event turns out to be more adventurous than they anticipated (story). 'Two Days And Two Nights' will be the final episode of the Enterprise's first season to air before the season finale.

Dorn's original comments are available here at the Sci Fi Wire.
