Ordover, Dilmore Create Web Serial

Former Star Trek Pocket Books editor John Ordover, who helped to create the Strange New Worlds anthologies for amateur Trek writers, has put out a call for submissions for a web-based serial anthology called Reality Cops: The Continuing Adventures of Vale and Mist.

According to Phobos Web, each month one story will be selected and purchased to continue the ongoing tale of interdimensional police officers Harlo Vale and Mistico Patrone, concluding with twists "much like the 'oh, boy' teasers the end of each Quantum Leap episode."

Each story is expected to present a compelling setup for the next month of the challenge, when another group of writers will attempt to develop the ongoing serial.

"To be eligible for inclusion in this anthology," wrote Ordover, "your story must be between 3,000 and 7,500 words in length, begin with the ending of the preceding story, and end with the characters shifted into a new dimension different from the last." The first installment, "Home on the Strange", is by Star Trek writer Kevin Dilmore.

The current challenge for the second episode runs until August 15th. More information is available at the official web site, including the bible and submission guidelines.
