Details of a scene from Star Trek XI in which Tyler Perry may appear were revealed recently, touching upon something familiar to fans of the original series.

As reported by UGO, Tyler Perry will have a role in Star Trek XI, possibly playing the head of Starfleet Academy.

Perry began his career as a playwright. He has written for and directed Madea's Family Reunion, Diary of a Mad Black Woman and Why Did I Get Married?.

It is rumored that Perry's character will oversee a Starfleet courtroom/assembly type event, where young Kirk will face expulsion from Starfleet, due to his cheating on the Kobayashi Maru test. In Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan, Kirk told of rigging the test so that he could win it, because, he said, "I don't like to lose."

According to sources, Kirk gives a classic "TV Kirk" type of speech. He wants to know how he was found out and when he learns of a witness to his act, Kirk demands to know the identity of the witness so that he can face his accuser. His accuser turns out to be none other than Spock!
