Patrick Stewart (Captain Picard) sees a future for the Voyager cast on the big screen, he told the audience at last weekend's Voyager:The Return convention in Blackpool, England.

Fans attending the weekend-long convention got two captains for the price of one when Stewart made a surprise appearance onstage with Kate Mulgrew (Kathryn Janeway). According to John Barnes at BBC Lancashire Online, Stewart said that not only could the Voyager crew have a promising future in Trek movies, but for Mulgrew he was fairly certain that it would be happening "very soon."

Attending his first convention in almost three years, Stewart told the audience that they shouldn't believe rumours that they may have heard about the next Trek film. More specifically, the actor mentioned that it was not true that he and Brent Spiner (Data) had only agreed to appear in the film if their characters were killed off.

According to long-time source 'Faith', Kathryn Janeway will be making an appearance in Trek X as an Admiral, offering advice to Picard on a number of issues (story). Please note that none of this has been officially confirmed by Paramount, and should be treated as you would any rumour.

The original report can be found here at BBC Lancashire Online.
