Lionsgate Entertainment has picked up the feature film Slow Burn, a Ray Liotta thriller starring Jolene Blalock (T'Pol), the directorial debut of scriptwriterWayne Beach.

Variety reported that the film, which had made the festival circuit last year, stars Blalock as an assistant district attorney caught up in a murder scandal that is damaging the D.A.'s plans to run for mayor. The film also stars LL Cool J and Taye Diggs.

According to Dark Horizons, Lionsgate acquired distribution rights to the film for North American and the UK. In the script by Beach, who previously wrote The Art of War, Blalock's character admits to killing a man in self-defense, only to be accused of murder by a stranger and a gang lord.

The film shot in Montreal, according to the Internet Movie Database, which has additional cast and crew information.

"Tonight...believe no one," warns the film's tag line.
