Hello World!

It's interesting to see even the official Star Trek site use the term Series V now in their new production news section. One and a half years ago, when TrekToday had just launched, one of the first news items was about an article the Daily Sci-Fi (now IGN Sci-Fi) was running about the fifth series, listing some ideas for what they would want to see it. As I expected there would probably come a lot more stories about the fifth series in the years after that, and I didn't want to keep referring to it as 'the fifth series', I remember actually sitting down and deciding to use Series V to refer to the new series. As TrekToday became more popular, it was also interesting to see more and more people begin to refer to the series as Series V, though of course I have no idea if that actually had anything to do with TT - the name isn't so original that no one else would have been able to come up with it, after all. Even if TrekToday wasn't actually the first site to use it, though (and please do let me know if you remeber a reference from before that), it's great to see it spreaded so far.
