'Star Trek: New Worlds' Goes Gold

Over at Interplay's official 'Star Trek: New Worlds' web site, the development team has posted an announcement stating that their new real-time strategy has gone gold, and is currently in duplication. Take a look:

The New Worlds Team would like to thank all the loyal fans who have followed this project for the last couple of years, and hope that you can forgive us for being absent from these boards for the last couple of weeks. Having lived, breathed and dreamt New Worlds during this last final push, we had to forsake many things, answering board questions, the outside world, sleep...

So, all that is left to do now is sit back and wait feverishly for the 29th, when New Worlds will appear all shiny and new on store shelves near you!

In addition, at their news page Interplay has also announced a New Worlds tournament, to be held on the 23rd of September in up to 20 Game Centers across North America, with prizes including video cards, voice controllers, games, t-shirts and posters.

The first reviews of the game should undoubtedly be appearing sometime next week.
