  • James Cawley, creator of the fan film production Star Trek New Voyages, visited the Star Trek XI set recently. He was offered a part in the film and will be playing a Starfleet officer on the Enterprise, according to Trekmovie.com.

  • Trekmovie.com reports that the extras casting agency working on the new Star Trek movie are looking for little people, 4'4" in height or less, for background work on the film.

  • Michael Giacchino, music composer for Star Trek XI, has been nominated for an Academy Award for his work in Ratatouille according to The Film Music Society.

  • According to USA Today, Zachary Quinto has made their top 100 people of 2007 list, placing fourteenth.
