Hello World!

A Merry Christmas to you all! It looks like we'll actually be having a white Christmas here in the Netherlands, something absolutely no one was expecting, as we've had one of the warmest Decembers of the century. A few days ago, however, temperatures suddenly dropped a lot, and this afternoon it started snowing throughout the whole country. There's now a lovely white layer of snow everywhere, and as there probably won't be much traffic tonight (on Christmas Eve), hopefully it'll still look as beautiful and undisturbed tomorrow.

Of course, that also meant every train was again delayed today (three days ago rail travel was actually completely impossible due to strikes) and I can't get any hot water from the taps anymore, but really these are just minor inconveniences - we'll just have to huddle closer together around the Christmas tree.

Below are some of the topics currently being discussed at the Trek BBS:

-Are you also noticing that you're finding even some of Star Trek's best episodes boring?

-How did the TNG characters that appeared on DS9 do?

Happy Birthday!

Today is the 55th birthday of Nicholas Meyer, who with great success re-invented Star Trek when he directed 'Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan', and also co-wrote the scripts for 'Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home' and 'Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country'. For some reason I would have expected him to be a lot younger - that's how all the behind-the-scenes book describe him, but of course 'Star Trek II' is almost twenty years old already, so those books probably are as well.
