Star Trek stuntwoman Leslie Hoffman is now coordinating stunts for the fan series Star Trek: New Voyages, allowing her to return to the Adirondacks where she grew up.

"I don't want to hit the floor anymore, but I want to make sure no one gets hurt," Hoffman told The Adirondack Daily Enterprise. New Voyages films in nearby Port Henry, where the creators have built a replica of the original Star Trek Enterprise bridge. Hoffman had studied acting, but decided while attending the American Academy of Dramatic Arts that she didn't particularly enjoy it.

In Steven Spielberg's 1941, Hoffman was nearly injured badly in a stunt involving a motorcycle and a truck carrying eggs. "We had to come back and do it the next day...here, two of us had nearly been killed the night before, and we had to do it again," she recalled.

The upcoming New Voyages episode will be Hoffman's fourth. Last time she worked with George Takei, who played Sulu in the original series and reprised the role for the internet continuation.

Hoffman has her own web site, Stuntrek, where she recalls working with Star Trek stunt coordinator Dennis Madalone, who threw her into a wall repeatedly on Deep Space Nine. On Voyager, she was trapped upside down while playing B'Elanna Torres descending a cliff.
