An independent label in California will release the official soundtrack from Trekkies 2, including a theme song performed by The B-52s' Fred Schneider and Pat Irwin as well as interview segments from both Trekkies films.

Reboot Music will release Trekkies 2: The Official Soundtrack on October 5th, a little over a month after the August 31st release of Trekkies 2 on DVD, the company announced. The CD will sell for approximately $16 in the U.S. and will contain 52 minutes of music and audio.

"We discovered some remarkably talented musicians who perform Trek-inspired songs to enthusiastic crowds... not just at conventions, but at packed rock clubs," said Trekkies 2 producer Mike Leahy. Among those included on the CD are "sci-fi rock gods" Warp 11, filk singers Leslie Fish and Angelica and Athrylis Sather Hodgetts, the metal group Stovokor, which sings in Klingon, and punk rockers No Kill I.

“These bands are hilarious, clever, entertaining, and most importantly: all about Star Trek," said director Roger Nygard. The CD also includes "Beam Me Up", the film's theme song, written by singer Schneider and keyboardist Irwin, and orchestral selections from both Trekkies installments.
