Despite UPN affiliate pre-emptions for sports in New York, Boston and Washington DC, Star Trek: Enterprise saw a rise in its fast national ratings last night.

The first part of "In a Mirror, Darkly" earned a 2.0 rating/3 share, according to Zap2It. This means that approximately 2% of American households with television sets were tuned to UPN during the 8 p.m. hour, representing 3% of households watching television at that time. Last week, "Bound" had a 1.8 fast national rating, while "Divergence", the last new episode before that, brought in a 1.7.

CBS edged NBC for the overall ratings victory last night, though NBC won the adult demographic, both on the strength of 10 p.m. shows, CBS' Numb3rs and NBC's Law & Order: Trial by Jury. As is typical, NBC won Enterprise's time slot with Dateline bringing in a 5.3/10.

Enterprise beat What I Like About You and a repeat of Reba on the WB, but UPN finished in last place for the night with a 1.1 rating overall, behind the WB's 1.2.

A report on the fast national ratings is at Zap2It.
