'First Contact' Overnight Ratings

Yesterday, ABC aired 'Star Trek: First Contact', the second movie featuring the crew from The Next Generation. The film aired as a special two-hour presentation, meaning that several scenes were removed from this 110-minute film to make room for commercials.

Over the two hours, the film averaged a 5.0 rating / 9 share, which was almost two full ratings points down from last week's film 'Tin Cup'. At 10:30pm, the movie peaked with a 6.0/11. Though CBS (with 'Martial Law' and 'Walker, Texas Ranger') and Fox (with 'Cops' and 'America's Most Wanted: America Strikes Back) scored better than 'First Contact', the movie did manage to leave behind NBC's programming ('The Others' and 'Profiler').
