A new series of Star Trek comic, the New Frontier series, will premiere in March of 2008.

As reported at the Comics Continuum, IDW Publishing will launch its Star Trek: Second Stage lineup early in 2008.

Peter David is the author of this series, which will contain five issues. It will be the official continuation of the New Frontier book series. The first story will pick up where the previous New Frontier book left off, according to David.

In issue number one, a prototype time ship has vanished and appears to have been stolen by Starfleet Admiral Edward Jellico. It's up to Mackenzie Calhoun and the crew of the Excalibur to find both Jellico and the ship.
