Hello World!

Well, it's Christmas. How do you know? Well, only two TV Stations are showing Star Trek and there wasn't enough news two years ago to make doing a Trek Two Years Ago section worthwhile.

I also know it's Christmas because I'm sitting here gnawing my fingernails. Yes, it's time for the Annual Extended Family Get Together tomorrow; the one my mother would still make me attend if my corpse was still warm.

One cousin has already refused to attend because "That "@€€@*~!!" (my mother) will be attending. Various aunts I only see twice a year have been on the telephone discussing travel arrangements and the trials of caring for small children. I hope my polite "mmm"s won't have been enough to cause Yet Another Incident. I have to pick up my grandmother an hour before our table is ready so she doesn't have to worry about missing anyone. I have a bet with my father that the second or third thing she says to me will be a remark about how pale my complexion is. He thinks it will be her first comment.

A Very Merry Christmas to all visitors to the site. And best wishes for survival if you too are being dragged off to various events like me.
