Henry To Appear In 'Star Trek XI'

Sonita Henry will have a small speaking role in Star Trek XI.

As reported at The Trek Movie Report, Henry will appear in Star Trek XI in a minor role. She was mum on exact details other than saying that she would not be playing a Vulcan. In spite of her small role, Henry claims that "I can tell you that in the history of Star Trek my role is extremely important." Henry did admit to working primarily with Jennifer Morrison, who is playing the mother of James T. Kirk.

Evidently Henry will be continuing the tradition of Star Trek females wearing close-fitting costumes. "It looks really cool," she said of her costume, "but it was very uncomfortable. It was quite tight."

Working on the film was a surreal experience for Henry. "you see Zachary [Quinto] dressed as Spock and you walk down the hallway and there is Zoe [Saldana] as Uhura and everyone is hanging out in their Star Trek costumes and you are like ‘oh ya this is completely normal...this is how everyone spends their day...with fake ears and shaved eyebrows and weird costumes."

Henry has appeared in other sci-fi work, including Jaunt V2 and The Fifth Element. Recently, she appeared on Without a Trace.
