William Shatner (James T. Kirk) has a few ideas about how he could make an appearance on Star Trek: Enterprise this season.

TV Guide is reporting that Shatner approached Enterprise co-creator Rick Berman with a few thoughts on how he might appear on the fifth Trek show. Berman seemed receptive, referring to Shatner's suggestion as "a great story idea."

If Shatner does make an appearance on Enterprise, he'll have a packed schedule. After guest starring in several episodes of ABC's The Practice last season, Shatner is set to be a regular on this fall's Boston Legal, a spinoff of The Practice. UPN says that the network is in talks with Shatner for an Enterprise guest spot, but ABC maintains that no formal moves have been made as of yet.

Another Trek alum, Star Trek: The Next Generation's Brent Spiner (Data) is confirmed for a three-episode appearance in Enterprise's fourth season. Spiner, who will play Dr. Noonien Soong's great-great grandfather, will appear in episodes four, five and six. Rumor has it Soong's great-great grandfather will be a scientist as well, and possibly a villain, too.
