Billingsley Aims To Conquer Hollywood

John Billingsley was stopped on the street by a reporter with a camera and chatted about his work, including his upcoming series Nine Lives.

TrekWeb noted the video interview here, in which the actor explains that he was going to the gym but forgot his lock and gym card so had decided to take a walk instead. "This guy stops me and apparently recognizes me from Star Trek. And we start talking, another guy comes up...he says, talk to the Star Trek BBS people, so here I am. I didn't comb my hair, I haven't brushed my teeth, I haven't even changed my clothes. You're actually seeing me at my worst."

Performing antics like twisting his head for the camera to force it to follow his mvements, Billingsley explained that he is "supposed to have a show on in the fall on ABC about a bunch of people who are captured during a bank robbery and their lives after they're released." His wife Bonita Friedericy will appear as his wife in the pilot as well.

But Billingsley has bigger ambitions. "There's some talk about maybe you all want me to have my own show," he joked. "I'm all for that. If you want to start a huge letter writing campaign, if everybody writes five thousand letters - you'd have to kind of forge different names, probably - maybe I'll get my own show."
