Hello World!

I'm going to have my hair cut tomorrow, and I am currently standing in front of the mirror hairbrush in hand. Well, and dashing back to the computer to post these columns, of course.

I'm having that odd crisis of confidence, wondering how different I want to get my hair cut. But there's one problem.

When I was a littleLis, I was terrified of hair dressers. No, I'm not quite sure why. Maybe I saw a scary film about scissors or something. More likely, the experience of my mother concentrating hard as she tried to trim my fringe - 'Don't you move!... Oh bloody hell...' as my fringe got progressively higher up my forehead - made me determined no one would attack my hair again.

Now I'm big, strong and grown up, of course, hair dressers no longer own the power to make me run and hide behind the nearest none-threatening object. But I still have an odd flicker of apprehension. And to think most girls love getting their hair cut. I guess I'm just strange.

If of course, you've not gathered that about a female editor of a large Star Trek news web site...
