George Takei On 'Heroes'

Is he or isn't he? Kaito Nakamura died on Heroes. Or did he?

Speaking with iF magazine recently, George Takei discussed the fate of the father of Hiro, last seen lying in a pool of blood and presumed dead. When asked if Kaito was dead, he replied "Maybe not," He went on to say that "Yes. I will be heard from a great deal more."

Takei knew that he would be returning for the second season. He received a call before the shooting began and figured that it would be confirmation of his character's death. But instead he was told that he would be surprised by the first script he would get and that he was being alerted so that he didn't learn it by some other means such as the Internet. "You will see a scene that would open your eyes," he was told by Tim Kring. "He was right," said Takei.

The appearance of Nichelle Nichols on the show was a surprise to Takei. "I thought it was going to be some sci fi actor," he said, when asked about Kring's announcement at Comic Con regarding additions to the show. "But I had no idea it was going to be Nichelle and she never let on." He went on to explain that Nichelle had dined with him recently, but "She never dropped a hint. And she's someone who can't contain herself when she gets excited."
