Prestigious auction house Christie's is teaming with CBS Paramount Television for a historic auction of Star Trek memorabilia in New York in October.

In celebration of Star Trek's 40th anniversary, Christie's will auction off such items as the replica of Captain Kirk's command chair used in Deep Space Nine's "Trials and Tribbleations" and Deanna Troi's mini-dress from The Next Generation pilot "Encounter at Farpoint", according to StarTrek.com.

"Over 1,000 lots from the never-before-released archives of CBS Paramount Television will include material from all of the Star Trek television series and movies, encompassing costumes, props, weapons, set dressings, detailed models of the Enterprise and various alien ship and space stations," the article stated. Other collectibles up for auction include a miniature of the Enterprise-A from Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country and one of Spock's uniforms from Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

There will also be auctions of tours of the Science Fiction Museum and attendance at Creation and FedCon conventions, Jeri Ryan's jumpsuit costume notes, Janeway's desktop computer, two bottles of "Chateau Picard" wine, Captain Kirk's "Go Climb A Rock" t-shirt and more.

A Q&A in which Paramount explains that it is not selling off this memorabilia to signal an abandonment of Star Trek among other issues is here. Auction inquiries may be made at 212-468-7100. A traveling exhibit of highlights for the auction will visit FedCon in Germany in May, Comic-Con in San Diego in July, Christie's London in August 3-8, Creation's convention in Las Vegas in August, PlanetXpo's 40th gala & in Seattle in September 8-10 and Christie's in Los Angeles and New York City.
