'Elite Force II' web site - copyright Activision/Paramount PicturesActivision recently opened its official web site for its upcoming computer game, Star Trek: Elite Force II.

Located at ST-EF2.com, the web portal contains all the latest information on the sequel to 2000's first-person shooter, Star Trek: Voyager: Elite Force. Included are sections on the game's storylines, key features, multiplayer capabilities and a breakdown of the mission structure, though exact details are currently restricted.

There is also a database on the characters featured in the game, ranging from Hazard Team commander Alexander Munro to familiar faces such as Captain Jean-Luc Picard and Lt. Commander Tuvok. Elite Force II media currently on offer includes screenshots from the game, as well as downloadable desktop wallpaper.

In addition to previously announced cast members such as Patrick Stewart (Jean-Luc Picard) and Tim Russ (Tuvok), the web site revealed the names of several other Trek alumni set to provide voices. Klingon stalwarts J.G Hertzler (Martok) and Robert O'Reilly (Gowron) have joined the cast, as has the villain from Voyager's early seasons, Martha Hackett (Seska). It is not currently known which roles they will be voicing.

Twice as long as the original game, Elite Force II will be set primarily on board the Enterprise-E. The storyline opens aboard Voyager, the setting of the original game, during the events of "Endgame". During the course of the Elite Force II, the player's character, Lieutenant Alexander Munro, recruits more Hazard Team members at Starfleet Academy before joining Picard and crew about the Federation flagship. The sequel includes 15 types of weapons, traditional Trek enemies such as the Romulans and Borg as well as three new alien races, and 13 environments, including a walk on the Enterprise-E hull.

According to the web site, Elite Force II is currently scheduled to be released in June, 2003. To pre-order the game and support TrekToday, head over to Amazon.com, where the game can be purchased for 10 percent off the list price.

The web site can be found at ST-EF2.com. Thanks to Doug Wilson for this!
