John Colicos Tribute Online

Several memorial sites have been put up for John Colicos, who passed away on the 6th of March at the age of 71. Colicos appeared in the TOS episode 'Errand of Mercy' as Kor, the first Klingon ever seen on Trek, a role he later reprised in three DS9 episodes. In addition, he also starred as Baltar on the 70s SF series 'Battlestar: Galactica'.

First of all, Colicos' official fan club has put up a memorial site, currently containing fairly little info, but it is still being built. The site does mention that the fan club is currently looking into setting up a memorial fund in conjunction with the Motion Picture and Television fund. Also available is a guestbook to leave behind memorial messages.

In addition, BattlestarGalactica.com has put up a tribute page for Colicos, containing tributes by many of his co-workers on the various 'Battlestar Galactica' projects. These also include a short piece by Kenneth Thomsom Jr., CGI artist on the 'Battlestar Galactica: The Second Coming', including a recollection of his many appearances on Trek. You can find this tribute page here, along with a Condolences Message Board.

Thanks go out to IGN Sci-Fi for part of this. They also report that Colicos' last work was actually the trailer for 'Battlestar Galactica: The Second Coming', certainly a fitting end for his acting career.
