Voyager Borg turned Boston Public teacher Jeri Ryan has scored a role in the upcoming comedy 'Down With Love.'

Ryan is filming her part during the David E. Kelley school-based show's summer hiatus, according to StarTrek.com. 'Down With Love' is being touted as a homage to the 1960s bedroom comedies which starred icons such as Doris Day and Rock Hudson.

Directed by 'Bring It On' helmer Peyton Reed, the film stars Oscar-nominee Renee Zellweger ('Bridget Jones's Diary') as Barbara Novak, an advice columnist who becomes romantically entangled with womanizing journalist Catcher Block, played by Golden Globe-nominee Ewan McGregor ('Attack of the Clones').

In April, three-time Emmy winner David Hyde Pierce (Frasier) and Jack and Jill actress Sarah Paulson were cast in much-sought after supporting roles. It is not currently known which character Ryan will play.

'Down With Love' was written by Eve Ahlert and Dennis Drake and produced by Academy Award-winners Dan Jinks and Bruce Cohen, who were behind the critically-acclaimed 'American Beauty.' According to the Internet Movie Database, shooting began last month, with the film expected to be released next year.
