Jeri Ryan, who is best known as Star Trek: Voyager's sexy Borg, Seven of Nine, has been cast in a new CBS series, The Commuters.

In a roundup of shows in development, Variety noted that Ryan - who starred for several seasons on Boston Public after Voyager completed its run - would play Anne, a "successful and assertive investment banker."

Paramount Network Television is filming the pilot for executive producers Dan Bucatinsky, Lisa Kudrow and Michael Taylor. Kudrow starred for many years on the extremely successful sitcom Friends, while Taylor was a writer on Deep Space Nine and Voyager.

Bucatinsky wrote the pilot script, which will be directed by Boogeyman's Stephen Kay, according to The Futon Critic.

A Northwestern University graduate, Ryan starred in Down With Love with Ewan McGregor and Renee Zellwegger. She was also a series regular on Dark Skies.
