September 26 Premiere For 'Enterprise'

Grab a pen and write this down - Enterprise, the newest Star Trek series, will premiere on UPN at 8pm, September 26.

The network officially announced that the series will debut with a two-hour premiere, with regular one-hour episodes starting the following week on Wednesday, October 3. This is an hour earlier than the 9pm slot filled by its predecessor, Star Trek: Voyager.

Special Unit 2 will now occupy the 9pm Wednesday timeslot. The series, which served as a mid-season replacement for the now cancelled Seven Days, will make its debut on October 3.

UPN certainly isn't putting all its eggs in one basket, as the network is spreading out its series premieres across a seven-week period in September and October. Strangely enough, the network will not launch any of the shows during the traditional premiere week, which runs from September 17-23.

Returning series The Hughleys will debut on September 3, and The Parkers and Girlfriends a week later on September 10. The network's latest acquisition, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, will have a two-hour premiere from 8-10pm on October 9, and Roswell, also new to UPN, will debut at 9pm on October 16.

The network's new season of Fridday night movies will start with 'The Fifth Element' on September 21. As previously reported, UPN has acquired the rights to air 57 MGM films, which will form part of the Saturday evening schedule.
