Higher 'Good Shepherd' Ratings

Over at the Star Trek Nielsen Ratings Information Database, Greg Fuller has put up his Overnight Ratings report for 'Good Shepherd', yesterday's new Voyager episode. Fortunately, the episode performed much better than in the last few weeks:

"Good Shepherd," aided by the reruns of nearly every other network, came up with a very strong rating for Voyager, earning a 5.1 rating, 8 share. That's up from every episode in the last month and far above "Child's Play"'s 4.3/7.

[...]

This is a good rating and a positive way to end this series of first-run episodes, but still doesn't erase the poor ratings of February and March, especially considering the weak competition. Voyager tends to perform better when up against other networks' usual lineups, not the constant specials of sweeps, but that is to be expected. Over a month of reruns now follow before ending the season in May.

The full report also contains some info on timeslot competition, in which Voyager performed rather well. Unfortunately, Voyager is now bound to lose some of its audience in over a month of reruns, so it still remains to be seen whether season six can avoid the same kind of disappointing ending season five had.
