Star Trek: New Voyages will follow up a highly-anticipated appearance by Walter Koenig (Chekov) in the fan-produced internet film series with an episode featuring another original series star, Grace Lee Whitney, who played Yeoman Janice Rand during Star Trek's first season and appeared in the original series films and on Voyager.

Producer James Cawley posted on the New Voyages message board that Whitney had agreed to appear in the upcoming fourth episode of the series, to be joined by other guest stars whose names have not yet been announced.

"It is my extreme pleasure to announce that one of Star Trek's most Beautiful and Talented ladies has agreed to return to Trek," wrote Cawley, calling Whitney "a fan favorite for 40 years." The same link features photos of Whitney both in character as Rand and at a meeting of New Voyages staff.

Whitney has appeared in many television episodes, yet her last Internet Movie Database feature film credit is for Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. She also appeared as herself in Trekkies.

More information about Star Trek: New Voyages is available at the web site, where previous episodes may be downloaded.
