Susan Sackett Interview

By Christian
March 15, 2000 - 10:25 PM

Today's News & Gossip section at TV Guide Online includes a short interview with Susan Sackett, the former executive assistant to Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry. In the interview, she reveals a bit about the man behind the myth:

"I don't want to burst the bubble of the mystique that has built up around this gifted man who was a 20th century icon, but he did have feet of clay like anybody else," says Susan Sackett, who worked for Roddenberry from 1974 until his death in 1991. Included in her serialized online biography, available only through www.insidetrek.com, are Sackett's claims that she maintained a longtime love affair with the married producer.

A few more tales from Sackett about Roddenberry can be found in the full interview. If you want to read her new 'Inside Trek' book, you can subscribe to it at InsideTrek.com, where you can already download two free sample chapters.
