Hello World!

Today I have discovered that there are worse things the women's changing rooms in clothing shops on a hot Summer day.

That is of course, shopping on said intolerably hot Summer day with your mother attempting to be helpful.

"Oh, that's much nicer than that baggy sack you were wearing this morning" she said, instantly damning my Manic Street Preachers khaki green t-shirt. "Ooh, look at the flowers on this dress - why don't you try it on?"

I thought this was something you left behind along with your teenage years, but apparently a seemingly innocent trip to allow one's mother to take back a faulty item can turn into the shopping trip from hell. And let's not even get started on the way she criticised my driving. I'm surprised she didn't trip over her own cliches.

  • Jeffrey Combs Lord of the Rings Movie?
    Rumours began to circulate that the actor who played DS9's Weyoon, Jeffrey Coombs was in consideration for the role of Grima Wormtongue in the Lord of the Rings movies. Two years later with the first film in the trilogy due to be released at Christmas, we know the role went to another Trek alumni. Brad Dour if played Leone Suer on Voyager and will be seen on movie screens as the villainous adviser to King Theoden.

    • In Canada, Space! will be showing the Original Series' 'The Corbomite Maneuver' at 10:00am Eastern Time, TNG's 'Unification, Part One' at 11:00am, DS9's 'Destiny' at 12:00am and Voyager's 'Unforgettable' at 1:00pm.
