Formerly Cardassian Legate Damar in Deep Space Nine, Casey Biggs has landed a new guest role in the Sci Fi Channel's new series The Chronicle.

Biggs is set to play a cable man hunted by a headless biker in the episode 'Bring Me the Head of Tucker Burns,' which is currently filming. The Chronicle begins on July 14th.

The series is a new one-hour drama that tells the story of former Pullitzer Prize-winning journalist Tucker Burns, who joins the staff of one of the world's least reputable tabloids: the titular Chronicle. At the paper, Burns and his colleagues Wes Freewald, Grace Hall and Donald Stern investigate paranormal phenomena. The show will star Reno Wilson, who previously apppeared opposite Cirroc Lofton (Jake Sisko), on Showtime's The Hoop Life, and Rena Sofer, who won an Emmy award for her role as Lois Cerullo Ashton in ABC's General Hospital.

Another face familiar to Star Trek fans will also be seen in the show. George Takei (Hikaru Sulu) will play a Chinese immigrant in the third episode of the series, titled 'Here There Be Dragons.'

The Chronicle may not be the only series in which we will soon be seeing Biggs. The official site of PAX's upcoming Bonanza prequel series Ponderosa showed the actor in a cast photo as Ben Cartwright, the show's lead character (story). While this suggest the actor has been cast in the lead role, TV Dads reported a decision on that has not been made. It is as yet unknown when the PAX TV network will make an official casting announcement.

You can read more about Bigg's role in The Chronicle in the announcement about his role at the Sci Fi Wire. More about The Chronicle itself can be found at the show's official site.
