Borg Assimilator Intimidates U.S. East Coast

If you can't make it to Las Vegas to be assimilated in Borg Invasion 4-D, consider a trip to North Carolina, where the Borg Assimilator Flying Roller Coaster is now terrifying humans.

StarTrek.com reported on the new attraction, a roller coaster unlike any other in the Carolinas, located at Paramount's Carowinds.

Borg Assimilator suspends riders below the track to "fly" speeds of up to 50 mph over nearly 3000 feet of twisting track including eight inversions - more than any other roller coaster in the southeastern United States.

As previously reported, the ride was originally a Vekoma Flyer developed in the Netherlands. It offers virtually unobstructed views of the Carowinds amusement park.

The StarTrek.com item is here. Paramount's Carowinds site has a short film about the ride here.
