  • According to an article by Variety's Bill Higgins, actress Whoopi Goldberg (Guinan) was honoured yesterday at the Santa Barbara Film Festival with the Ruby Award, which honors an actor whose career has greatly influenced American cinema. During the ceremony clips from her long acting career were shown, including a few clips from 'Star Trek: The Next Generation'.

  • David Henderson at Psi Phi has added an excerpt of the upcoming TNG novel 'Valiant' to his Star Trek Book Database. 'Valiant' is a hardcover novel by Michael Jan Friedman which has a publication date of April 2000, and which will deal with both the disappeared S.S. Valiant and the U.S.S. Stargazer, Picard's first command. You can find the excerpt here.
