Two years after the traumatic death of his third wife, William Shatner (James T. Kirk) appears to have found romantic happiness again, as on Monday he and his girlfriend applied for a license to marry.

The name of Shatner's new fiancée is Elizabeth J. Martin, who press reports only described as being 42 years old - more than 25 years younger than Shatner, who is 69.

The couple walked into the Boone County Courthouse in Lebanon, Indiana this Monday to pay the $62 out-of-state residence fee required for the 1icense application, county clerk Lisa Garoffolo said. The license allows the couple to get married at any point during the next 60 days, but Shatner's publicist could not yet be reached about a possible wedding date by E! Online.

The smiling couple was helped by a clerk by the name of Debby Jarrett, who described them as "very congenial". Shatner reportedly wore a leather coat, while Martin was draped in fur. Jarrett couldn't see why the couple decided to register in Lebanon, but the word apparently was that the bride's parents own a horse farm nearby.

Martin will be the fourth woman to get married to Shatner. From 1956 to 1969 he was married to Gloria Rand, with hom he had three children. In 1973, actress Marcy Lafferty followed, but in 1996 they officially divorced. In 1997, he married to model Nerine Kidd.

Sadly, that marriage was to last for only two years, as on August 9, 1999, Kidd drowned in an accident in the swimming pool of the couple's home. An autopsy revealed she was legally drunk at the time of her death, revealing to the world the alcohol problem Kidd suffered from. In her memory, Shatner recently opened the Nerine Shatner Friendly House, dedicated to help those with an addiction to drugs or alcohol.

E! Online's original report can be read by following this link. The report also contains a photo of the bride.
