Hello World!

Watching the tragedy in New York unfold late last night Australian time was an incredibly desensitising experience. No matter how terrible the disaster, it didn't actually seem quite real - in fact, it felt very surreal. Living half a world away, it was impossible to comprehend the magnitude of the disaster taking place - no matter how horrifying the images broadcast over the news, it did actually seem like a Hollywood movie.

But it was real. I spent a few hours watching the coverage last night, and had the television on all day as I studied. I physically can't comprehend the pain and suffering of those involved in the disaster - I have no personal experience to relate to.

What I can say is that I will never forget the terrifying images that I have seen over the last 20 hours - I don't think anyone could.

Hearfelt sympathies go out from everyone here at the TrekNation to all those affected by this terrible tragedy. Godspeed.
