  • Gizmodo.com.au reports that a replica Star Trek communicator will be available in March. The communicator sounds like the real thing when it's flipped open, and has nine different voice phrases from the TV series built into it. It is not, however, a real communicator nor does it function as a cellphone.

  • SlipperyBrick posted photos of the fifteen coolest geek-themed home theaters. Four Star Trek ones were amongst the fifteen shown. Two are based on the Star Trek Enterprise NCC-1701D. One is based on the original Star Trek bridge. It was built on a small budget of $15,000 and is located in the owner's basement. The fourth Star Trek home theater is a blend of elements from various Star Trek eras and looks futuristic.

  • LeVar Burton will be speaking on February 21st at a program to raise money for Shippensburg University's Gifted Minority Scholarship Fund. The annual program commemorates the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King The fund benefits academically talented and financially deserving minority students, according to Cumberlink.com

  • IC Coventry.co.uk reports that Brent Spiner (Data) and George Takei (Sulu) will be appearing at Coventry's Ricoh Arena for "Collectormania Midlands. The event takes place on March 1 and 2 and will also include actors such as Robert Englund (Freddie Krueger) and Colin Baker (Doctor Who).
