  • reports that a replica Star Trek communicator will be available in March. The communicator sounds like the real thing when it's flipped open, and has nine different voice phrases from the TV series built into it. It is not, however, a real communicator nor does it function as a cellphone.

One is based on the original Star Trek bridge. It was built on a small budget of $15,000 and is located in the owner's basement. The fourth Star Trek home theater is a blend of elements from various Star Trek eras and looks futuristic.
