Shatner, Nimoy Talk Ads and Association

Old friends and co-stars William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy have reunited on the small screen to do advertisements, but though Shatner has a new TV series in the works for the fall, Nimoy says, "I am totally done with acting and directing."

Speaking to TV Guide Online's Tim Williams, Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock said that their relationship works well for the humour of Priceline's commercials and agreed that their public images have little to do with how they see themselves.

Shatner's first Priceline ad, for which he sang, was successful, "but it could have gone the other way, where people are saying, 'Isn't he a fool?'" Though he will star this fall on the ABC series Boston Legal, Shatner said that his appeal comes from people wondering, "'Does he know that's funny, or does he think it's for real?'"

Nimoy said that currently he and his wife are involved in traveling and collecting contemporary art, but he is happy to work with Shatner again, saying that he thinks their friendship is evident to their fans. "I hear a lot from people on the street that they enjoy seeing us together again," he stated. "If we didn't have that friendship, well, anything we did together just wouldn't work."

The original interview is at TV Guide.
