Trek Alumni Receive Tony Nominations

Several Star Trek alumni were nominated for Tony Awards yesterday when the 58th annual nominations were announced at the Hudson Theatre at 8:30 a.m.

The Celebrity Cafe reported on the nominations, which were carried live on morning television on US stations.

Frank Langella (Jaro Essa) and Christopher Plummer (General Chang) will compete for the award for Best Actor in a Play - the former for Match, the latter for King Lear.

Donna Murphy (Anij) was nominated for the award for Best Actress in a Musical for Wonderful Town.

X-Men star Hugh Jackman, nominated for Best Actor in a Musical for The Boy From Oz, will host the awards presentation on Sunday, June 6th at Radio City Music Hall in New York.

The Tony Awards are co-produced by the League of American Theatres and Producers and the American Theatre Wing. Tickets may be purchased via the Tony Awards Ticket Hotline at (212) 307-4544 or by visiting the Tony Awards web site.
