By Christian
May 10, 2000 - 11:16 PM

This Saturday, US cable network Showtime will be premiering 'Rated X', a new film starring Emilio Estevez and Charlie Sheen, and also featuring Nicole deBoer (Ezri Dax) as Karen. NikkiDeBoer.com has posted the following air schedule for the film:

  • May 13, 9:00pm
  • May 18, 10:00pm
  • May 29, 10:00pm
  • June 6, 10:00pm
  • June 10, 11:00pm

The schedule is also listed here on the Showtime web site, but, as reported earlier, the nice people at Showtime do not allow non-American visitors to look at their site.

The first previews of the film have also already gone up. In the first one, People Magazine's Terry Kelleher calls it an "uneven" film, though it also "rates a look". Thanks go out to Nicole deBoer Kastner for the link!

Furthermore, the May 12 edition of Entertainment Weekly contained a short review of 'Rated X' in its 'What To Watch' section. Here's a snippet:

Directed by Estevez, 'Rated X' tries to portray [porn directors] Mitchells as middle-class libertines brought down by cocaine and fusty obscenity laws, but you don't need invidious comparisons to the relatively scholarly 'Boogie Nights' to find this potentially perceptive porn peep a major disappointment: 'Rated X' is a tedious bummer all on its own. The review was written by Ken Tucker. Thanks go out to Jeff 'Koganuts' Koga for this!
