The new British Star Trek Magazine marks the first of six special issues celebrating the 40th anniversary of the franchise.

Star Trek issue #125, which is already on sale in the UK, is dedicated to the original series and the animated series and features Captain Kirk on the cover. Its principal news headline is, "Stewart Returns To Star Trek?" with a summary of Stewart's recent comments that he might eventually return to the franchise.

The issue also has features on the origins of Star Trek and on William Shatner and the rise of Kirk.

"Star Trek brought a new concept of space adventure to a wide audience, one that didn’t include lost astronauts, bug-eyed evil aliens, nor intrepid heroes with big ray guns fighting cosmic supervillains. Instead, viewers saw a crew of career officers whose primary mission was scientific exploration," explains the retrospective.

The new issue will soon be available in Australia and New Zealand. More information is available here.
