Nearly 300 theatres throughout the United States will be showing a new remastered edition of the Original Series episodes "The Menagerie, Part One" and "Part Two" on the 13th of November.

The screening is being organised by CBS to promote the release of the first season of the Original Series on HD-DVD, a week later. Both episodes will be shown in their Remastered version, featuring updated effects and surround sound. In addition, the episodes will be preceded by a special introduction from Eugene 'Rod' Roddenberry, the son of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, and followed by a new 30-minute documentary going behind the scenes of the Star Trek Remastered project.

The event will begin at 7:30pm local time in nearly 300 participating AMC, Cinemark, Georgia Theatre Company and Regal Entertainment Group movie theatres across the country. Tickets are now available for a price of $12.50 at local theatre box offices, as well as online at FathomEvents.com.

"The Menagerie" was the only two-part episode to air during the Original Series' three-year run. For a large part, the episode consists of footage from "The Cage," the unaired first pilot for the series that featured Jeffrey Hunter as Captain Pike.
