Star Trek actor and director Roxann Dawson (B'Elanna Torres) has just finished filming back-to-back crossover episodes of Third Watch and Medical Investigation, and will direct an episode of Crossing Jordan starting this week.

A report at Dawson's web site Roxann just completed work on the special crossover, which will feature the actors from both series in a two-hour Friday night event on Friday, February 18th from 9-11 p.m. on NBC. In these episodes, reports the site, members of the elite N.I.H. team from Medical Investigation research a disease that Third Watch paramedic Carlos contracted while treating a thief, which is now threatening to spread through Manhattan.

The Futon Critic has more detailed summaries of both the Third Watch and Medical Investigation episodes. During the first hour, recording artist Wyclef Jean guest stars as Dr. Connor from Medical Investigation arrives on Third Watch to investigate the new, unknown contagious illness. Then on Medical Investigation itself, Faith Yokas from Third Watch seeks a criminal who may hold clues to the source of the disease while Carlos becomes increasingly ill.

Dawson, who has already helmed three episodes of Crossing Jordan, begins filming her fourth this week. The Voyager star began her directing career with Star Trek and has helmed several episodes of Star Trek: Enterprise.
