Scott Bakula (Captain Archer) traded in his starship for a costume from The Carol Burnett Show last night to perform at the Kennedy Center Honors in Washington, DC.

The Associated Press (via The Captain's Chair) reported that Bakula appeared in a tribute to Burnett, along with Elaine Stritch, Florence Henderson, Tim Conway and Bernadette Peters, as well as Kim Cattrall, who played Valeris in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, and John Schneider, who stars on Star Trek: Enterprise competitor Smallville.

Julie Andrews introduced her old friend Burnett before the tribute, in which the performers wore costumes from The Carol Burnett Show which ran on CBS for 11 years. The musical routine ended with the show's theme song.

DonnaDee noted that this is Bakula's second appearance at the Kennedy Center Honors; in 1993, he performed in honor of composer Stephen Sondheim. Bakula also appeared in Burnett's 1994 CBS special Men, Movies, and Carol.

The Kennedy Center Honors will air on December 26th on CBS. Other honorees include singer Loretta Lynn, violinist Itzhak Perlman, musician James Brown and playwright and director Mike Nichols.

More information is available at The Captain's Chair and The Kennedy Center web site.
