'Tenebrea's Hope,' the second book in the Tenebrea trilogy, written by Roxann Dawson (B'Elanna Torres) and Daniel Graham, will be launched next month at the Slanted Fedora Convention in Washington D.C.

Dawson and Graham will be autographing copies of the Limited Collectors' Edition of 'Tenebrea's Hope' on Sunday August 5th, with all proceeds going to the charities Camp Heartland and Half the Sky Foundation.

Work on the trilogy has been in progress for the last six years, ever since Simon & Schuster asked Dawson if she was interested in writing a novel for them. With the only parameters being that it had to feature a strong female character in some sort of futuristic context, Dawson joined with Graham to write the trilogy.

The stories centre around a certain Andrea Flores, who, after losing her family, joins a special operations unit known as the Tenebrea. At the Holodiction Odyssey convention held last month in Sydney, Australia, Dawson described Flores as an "every-woman," stating that she was "very proud" of the books.

'Tenebrea Rising,' the third book in the series, is tentatively set to be released in October. Dawson said at the convention that she had just completed the last pages of the novel, and had faxed them off on the way to the airport. The writers hope to expand the range of the trilogy further, however. "We're hoping that it will be a film script someday," Dawson said.

For those unable to attend the convention, autographed hard-cover copies of both novels are available from the Tenebrea website. Alternatively, 'Entering Tenebrea' is available from Amazon.com, and 'Tenebrea's Hope' can currently be pre-ordered.

Details on the convention are available at the Slanted Fedora website. Thanks to Fiona Lee for this!
