Star Trek X Rumours Continue
By ChristianJune 7, 2000 - 2:35 PM
Following the recent (debunked) rumours that 'Lost In Space' scribe Akiva Goldsman would be writing the script for the tenth Star Trek film, another screenwriter rumour has come and gone before we even had time to report on it.
A few hours after printing the Goldsman rumours, Corona Coming Attractions received mails from two individuals stating that a 'well-known screenwriter' was working on the film. Corona contacted the agency of the screenwriter to ask if he was working on the film, and were told the agency would get back to them. The site wanted to either confirm or deny this news before revealing the name, but did already post they had this other rumour.
Early this morning, Corona mentioned that this mysterious screenwriter was actually David Franzoni, who wrote 'Gladiator', but that his agency said that he is not working on the new Trek film in any way.
Meanwhile, the name of the real Trek X screenwriter still remains unknown. We know, from several interviews given by Rick Berman, that the film is being written by a "big-name writer who's also a Star Trek fan", but that's all we know about him. Hopefully the name will be released soon.
