Hello World!

The pack of stamps I bought the other day apparently "don't go" on the size envelopes I have. How strange, I thought all stamps could go on any sized envelopes, as long as you put enough on. Hmm. I shall never understand the complexity of Australia Post.

Though I do pity the poor girl in front of me who found out how much it costs to ship a package to America. You could see her face falling as the man behind the counter quoted her various prices, right down to sea mail. Ouch.

These were some of the major news items on February 7, 2000:

  • 'Collective' Photos And Description
    UPN released official information for the upcoming Voyager episode 'Collective.' The episode featured the first appearance of the Borg children, who appeared in several episodes throughout the sixth and seventh seasons.

  • Viacom/UPN News Bits
    It was reported UPN would be premiering its new cop show The Beat on March 21. The series, which "chronicled the day-to-day travails of two young cops working on New York's Lower East Side," lasted half a season.

  • Voyager Hair & Makeup Nominated
    The episodes 'Dark Frontier,' 'Bride of Chaotica' and 'Dragon's Teeth' were nominated for best special effects makeup, best character hair styling and best innovative hairstyling, respectively, in the the First Annual Hollywood Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist Guild Awards. The series went on to win two out of the three categories.
