Enterprise's episode "Stigma" has been nominated for an award for its positive portrayal of sexual health issues.

The second season episode is among the finalists in this year's Media Project SHINE Awards, established to "honor those in the entertainment industry who do an exemplary job incorporating accurate and honest portrayals of sexuality into their programming."

"Stigma" concerned a disease transmitted among Vulcans by intimate mental contact. Many critics noted its obvious parallels with AIDS and the frequent prejudice with which its victims are faced.

Paramount Pictures announced other nominees among shows it produces, including Becker, Frasier, Girlfriends and One On One.

Awards are given for Comedy Episode, Dramatic Episode, Series Storyline, Entertainment Special, Youth Episode, Informational/Documentary, Daytime Drama, Music Video and Spanish language shows.

The winners will be announced on October 18th.
